Packaging

Packaging plays an important role at Varodem. It protects our products, provides essential product information and ensures that products can be transported and stored safely. At the same time, packaging has an impact on the environment. That is why we continuously work to make our packaging more sustainable without compromising the quality and safety of our products. We strive to provide transparent information about the producer, manufacturer and distributor of our products, as well as the packaging materials used. In addition, we minimise the use of secondary packaging wherever possible. As waste separation and recycling regulations may vary by country and region, we recommend consulting the applicable local guidelines for the correct disposal of packaging materials.

Transport Packaging

To make transportation as efficient as possible, we use shipping boxes in various sizes. These are made of corrugated cardboard with a kraft liner and, where possible, feature an automatic closure, eliminating the need for additional packaging tape. For larger shipments or folding boxes, we use PVC, PP or paper packaging tape, PP strapping or stretch film, where necessary, to ensure the products are transported safely.

Product Packaging

The packaging of our core products, such as therapeutic elastic compression stockings, consists primarily of cardboard and paper. These materials are widely recycled, making them a more sustainable packaging choice. Our custom-made products are deliberately packaged in resealable bags made from recycled plastic. This reduces transport volume and allows products to be processed more efficiently, contributing to faster delivery to the patient. For additional products, we use plastic packaging, such as tubes, where required by the product characteristics.

Producer according to the PPWR

In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on Packaging and Packaging Waste (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation – PPWR), we consider ourselves to be the producer of the products we manufacture and place on the market.
